Dallas Federal Reserve Governor Lori Logan said that she objected to the Fed's decision to keep interest rates unchanged because she believes that if the central bank does not act, inflation will not fall back to the 2% target set by officials. “Without policy restraints, inflation is likely to continue above target levels until an unexpected shock occurs,” Logan said in a statement on Friday. “Acting moderately in the short term will reduce the possibility that more aggressive action will be needed in the future.”
