Currently, most of the factories mentioned above are still out of production, and the equipment is undergoing maintenance and calibration. The overall impact of the earthquake on the industrial and technology supply chain is still unclear. Kumamoto Prefecture was hit hard by a strong earthquake ten years ago. At the time, it took Sony more than three months to resume factory production, and an additional two months to bring production capacity back to normal. Sony also has image sensor factories in other regions of Kyushu, and the earthquake did not affect these factory areas.
