A number of major projects have started this year, such as the new Three Gorges Water Transport Corridor, Guangzhou's new airport, and the Fujian Shangbaishi Water Conservancy Hub. Preliminary work on projects such as the east-west section of the Xinzang Railway and the modernization of the Dujiangyan Irrigation Area in Sichuan is being accelerated, with a view to starting construction as soon as possible and creating a physical workload.
