Listen to the news

The recent price decline of 43% in Ovanti Limited's (ASX:OVT) stock may have disappointed insiders who bought AU$289.1k worth of shares at an average price of AU$0.029 in the past 12 months. Insiders purchase with the hope of seeing their investments increase in value over time. However, due to recent losses, their initial investment is now only worth AU$39.6k, which is not great.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Ovanti

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Group CEO Daler Fayziev for AU$289k worth of shares, at about AU$0.029 per share. That means that an insider was happy to buy shares at above the current price of AU$0.004. While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. Generally speaking, it catches our eye when an insider has purchased shares at above current prices, as it suggests they believed the shares were worth buying, even at a higher price. The only individual insider to buy over the last year was Daler Fayziev.
