Japanese space company ISPACE and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries announced on July 29 that they will sign a transportation service contract to use the “H3” rocket launch plan to carry out the lunar landing mission “ULTRA” in 2028. ISPACE previously used an American rocket to launch a lunar module and tried to land on the moon twice in 2023 and 2025, but both failed. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is jointly developing the H3 rocket with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency.
