In the first half of this year, the banking sector in Guangdong Province ranked first in the country in terms of total assets, total liabilities, deposit and loan balances, as well as total insurance assets, premium income, and underwriting profits. As of the end of June this year, Guangdong's banking sector had total assets of 43.99 trillion yuan and total liabilities of 42.7 trillion yuan, up 6.77% and 6.75%, respectively. The total assets of the Guangdong insurance industry were 2.93 trillion yuan, an increase of 9.67% over the previous year.
