The Zhitong Finance App learned that on July 27, data from the National Energy Administration showed that in June 2026, the country completed electricity market transactions of 627.5 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 20.8% over the previous year. Looking at the scope of transactions, electricity traded in the province was 477.4 billion kilowatt-hours, up 24.1% year on year; electricity traded across provinces and regions was 15.1 billion kilowatt-hours, up 11.3% year on year. In terms of trading types, electricity traded in the medium to long term is 577.4 billion kilowatt-hours; spot traded electricity is 50.1 billion kilowatt-hours. Green power traded 27.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, an increase of 15.0% over the previous year. The market-based agents of power grid companies purchased 73.8 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity.
From January to June 2026, the country completed a total of 3684.8 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity transactions in the electricity market, an increase of 24.2% over the previous year. Looking at the scope of transactions, the amount of electricity traded within the province was 2913.5 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 27.9% over the previous year; the amount of electricity traded across provinces and regions was 771.3 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 12.1% over the previous year. In terms of trading types, medium- to long-term electricity trading volume is 3256.8 billion kilowatt-hours; spot trading electricity volume is 428 billion kilowatt-hours. Green power traded 164.1 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, an increase of 6.6% over the previous year. The market-based agents of power grid companies purchased 398.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity.
