02:44 AM EDT, 07/27/2026 (MT Newswires) -- AstraZeneca (AZN.L, AZN.ST) said Monday that sonesitatug vedotin, or Sone-Ve, met the endpoints of the late-stage Clarity-Gastric01 trial in advanced gastric cancers. In the phase 3 study, Sone-Ve met the primary endpoint of overall survival in third- and later-line treatment settings. It also showed a statistically significant and highly clinically meaningful improvement in overall survival in the second- and later-line setting, a key secondary endpoint. Meanwhile, the other primary endpoint of progression-free survival demonstrated an improvement trend but did not reach statistical significance. The trial enrolled patients with locally advanced or metastatic gastric cancer, gastroesophageal junction cancer, or oesophageal adenocarcinoma with Claudin 18.2 expression on at least 25% of tumor cells at any staining intensity.
