Iranian Foreign Minister Alagzi posted a social media post on July 26 denouncing Ukraine's attack on Iranian merchant ships in the Caspian Sea. Alagzi said in the post that Ukraine “attacked an Iranian merchant ship, killing a sailor. This is a flagrant violation of the Charter of the United Nations. It is under Israel's orders and is intended to drag Europe into its war. In conversation with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Callas and Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov, I have made it clear that Kyiv's 'eating white food' act is absolutely impossible not to be countered.” Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs previously issued a statement saying that on July 25, an Iranian merchant ship exploded after being attacked by Ukraine in the Caspian Sea, killing one crew member and injuring another person.
