Pentair trims guidance and explains what changed in its pool business

Pentair (PNR) cut its second quarter 2026 and full year 2026 guidance, pointing to weaker pool sales, a sharper pool channel inventory reset, and pressure from higher interest rates and inflation.

The company now expects second quarter sales of about $930 million, operating income of roughly $165 million and diluted EPS from continuing operations near $0.80, all below its earlier outlook.

For the full year 2026, Pentair is guiding sales to be down about 4% to 7% instead of previously guided growth, with operating income from continuing operations expected to be down roughly 1% to 6%.

Management also lowered its full year GAAP diluted EPS outlook to a range of $3.90 to $4.10 and identified pool channel destocking and inventory right sizing ahead of the 2027 pool season as key drivers.
