On July 24, 2026, China hosted the APEC High-Level Forum on Artificial Intelligence in Chengdu, Sichuan. The theme of the forum was “Promoting the Inclusive Development of Artificial Intelligence”. APEC member economies reaffirm that we are committed to deepening exchanges, forging consensus, strengthening cooperation, and promoting innovation in the field of artificial intelligence, and are committed to continuing to implement the “APEC Putrajaya Vision 2040”, the “APEC Internet and Digital Economy Roadmap”, and the “APEC Artificial Intelligence Initiative”. Considering the diverse needs of APEC member economies, we encourage economies to share their experiences, promote the responsible development and application of artificial intelligence in the Asia-Pacific region, and look forward to promoting cooperation in the following fields of artificial intelligence: promoting the safe development and deployment of artificial intelligence. We encourage the development of artificial intelligence that prioritizes safety and promote innovation aimed at addressing risk and benefiting people. Member economies are encouraged to exchange best practices on promoting the development of reliable, accessible, scalable, trustworthy, secure and resilient artificial intelligence infrastructure, and improving the accessibility of digital infrastructure. We will facilitate the flow of data across borders, which is critical to the development of artificial intelligence while strengthening consumer and business trust. Accelerate the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence. We encourage the promotion of artificial intelligence in various forms to enable economic development and create a favorable environment for the integration of artificial intelligence into all fields of the economy and society. We promote the provision of accessible education and training resources to all groups in society to improve artificial intelligence literacy and skills. We recognize the growing role of artificial intelligence in promoting trade, modernizing customs procedures, and enhancing enterprise competitiveness, and encourage further exchange of best practices in these areas to support economic growth. Create an environment conducive to artificial intelligence innovation. We appreciate the adoption of market-oriented and innovation-driven policies to promote the development and wide application of artificial intelligence.
