07:37 AM EDT, 07/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The European Medicines Agency's human medicines committee recommended the approval, under exceptional circumstances, of Minoryx Therapeutics' Nezglyal as a treatment for cerebral adrenoleukodystrophy, a rare genetic condition affecting the brain. The committee said Friday that patients treated with Nezglyal experienced "no meaningful worsening" of their condition for up to 96 weeks in an open-label study. Nezglyal will be available as an oral suspension. As the medicinal product was designated as an orphan medicine during its development, the agency will now review whether the designation can be upheld.
