07:14 AM EDT, 07/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The European Medicines Agency's Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use recommended the approval of AstraZeneca's (AZN.L, AZN.ST) Trixeo Aerosphere as a maintenance treatment for asthma in patients aged 12 and above. The recommendation applies to patients whose asthma is not adequately controlled by a combination of a medium-dose inhaled corticosteroid and a long-acting beta2-agonist, the pharmaceutical company said Friday. The positive opinion was based on the Kalos and Logos phase 3 trials, in which the fixed-dose triple-combination treatment showed statistically significant improvements in lung function, compared with combined inhaled corticosteroid and long-acting beta2-agonist treatments.
