National Energy Administration: In June, China issued 373 million green certificates involving 1,247,500 renewable energy power generation projects

The Zhitong Finance App learned that on July 24, the National Energy Administration released the national renewable energy green power certificate issuance and transaction data for June 2026. In June, the National Energy Administration issued 373 million green certificates, involving 1,247,500 renewable energy power generation projects. Of these, 206 million green certificates can be traded, accounting for 55.41%. The number of green certificates that can be traded is basically the same as last month. The amount of renewable energy issued in the current period in May 2026 corresponds to 270 million green certificates, accounting for 72.38%. The number of green certificates issued for conventional hydropower, biomass power, and other renewable energy generation types all increased this month. Among them, the number of green certificates issued for conventional hydropower generation increased the most.

In June 2026, 82.73 million green certificates were traded nationwide, of which 42.89 million were green electricity transactions. By power source type, wind power and solar power generation rank in the top two in terms of green license transaction scale, and are the core categories of market transactions.

In June 2026, 39.84 million green certificates were traded nationwide. The market price showed a clear gradient according to the year of electricity production. Among them, the electricity production year was 4.21 million green certificate transactions in 2024, with an average price of 1.29 yuan/unit; the electricity production year was 28.16 million green certificate transactions in 2025, with an average price of 4.05 yuan/unit; and 7.48 million green license transactions in 2026, with an average price of 5.96 yuan/unit.
