Zhitong Finance App learned that the International Data Corporation (IDC) recently released the “China Hybrid Cloud/Private Cloud Market Tracking, 2025H2” report. According to IDC data, the hybrid cloud market grew 22.7% year-on-year in the second half of 2025, with a market size of 101.47 billion yuan, and a market size of 145.17 billion yuan for the full year of 2025.

IDC believes that technological trends in the hybrid cloud market are evolving to support “intelligent computing+AI applications”:

The application of AI extends to vertical industries such as government/manufacturing, and the application of edge reasoning and intelligent agents drives the construction of edge intelligent computing platforms;

Localized computing power dominates the expansion and renewal of computing power resources of central and state-owned enterprises;

AIOps intelligent operation and maintenance enhances integrated total/intelligent computing management capabilities;

FinOps operation management helps enterprises intelligently manage cloud platform investment budgets.

The hybrid cloud market defined by IDC is defined according to the actual situation in the Chinese market. In the Chinese market, hybrid cloud/ private cloud and proprietary cloud usually refer to the same cloud deployment model, that is, a model with a privately deployed cloud platform as the core, which can be connected to public cloud networks, and also has the ability to connect and call public cloud services. IDC divides the overall hybrid cloud market into three segments: hybrid cloud infrastructure hardware, hybrid cloud infrastructure system software, and hybrid cloud platform software and services.

In the second half of 2025, China's hybrid cloud market showed the following characteristics

There has been a significant change in the computing power ratio. With the large-scale implementation of AI applications such as intelligent computing platforms and smart devices, the share of AI computing power has increased markedly, and there have been structural changes in total/intelligent computing power.

The need for heterogeneous computing power management is prominent. Integrate heterogeneous hardware and chip computing power resources, achieve intelligent scheduling and collaboration of heterogeneous computing power through a computing power management platform, and accelerate the growth in demand for hybrid cloud intelligent computing platform construction.

Localized computing power and AI security are equally important. Localization policies continue to promote comprehensive replacement of government and enterprise cloud infrastructure, and security compliance requirements further place higher data and application security requirements on finance/government/healthcare industries, and promote the deepening development of hybrid clouds in key industries.

Demand for AI applications such as smart devices has exploded. Currently, smart devices are being deployed and operated on a large scale in various industries to accelerate the expansion of enterprise hybrid cloud infrastructure.

The demand for edge reasoning continues to evolve. Demand for edge inference in enterprise applications has increased significantly. The hybrid cloud model helps customers build cloud-integrated intelligent computing platforms to meet the needs of large-scale edge AI application deployment.

Market pattern

In the second half of 2025, China's hybrid cloud market reached 101.47 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22.7%. The overall hybrid cloud market competition has completely shifted from cloud platform computing infrastructure capacity building and operation to intelligent computing infrastructure upgrades. AI application support+intelligent operation management such as intelligent devices have become the current core competitive point of hybrid clouds.

In the second half of 2025, China's hybrid cloud infrastructure hardware market reached 45.91 billion yuan, an increase of 25.7% over the previous year. Hybrid cloud infrastructure hardware competition has completely shifted from “computing+intelligent computing” to “heterogeneous integration”, and heterogeneous chip adaptation+computing power management has become the core competitive point.

In the second half of 2025, China's hybrid cloud infrastructure system software market reached 18.04 billion yuan, an increase of 19.9% over the previous year. Driven by intelligent AI applications, demand for hybrid cloud intelligent computing in government enterprises, manufacturing, healthcare, finance and other industries has increased dramatically, leading to demand for hybrid cloud IaaS software.

In the second half of 2025, China's hybrid cloud platform software and service market reached 37.52 billion yuan, an increase of 20.7% over the previous year. Driven by intelligent AI applications, demand for hybrid cloud intelligent computing in government enterprises, manufacturing, healthcare, finance and other industries has increased dramatically, leading to demand for hybrid cloud PaaS software and services.

IDC predicts that China's hybrid cloud market will continue to grow at a relatively rapid pace from 2025 to 2030. The compound annual growth rate is expected to be 18.4%, and the overall market size will reach 337.04 billion yuan in 2030. Currently, with the rapid implementation of new AI technologies and applications such as intelligent computing and smart devices, 2026 will experience significant growth. In the medium term, it will experience a major trend of recovering after falling back in growth, and will maintain steady growth over the long term.

Zhang Li, senior research manager at IDC China, said that in 2025, with the continued deepening of localization of cloud platforms and large-scale implementation of AI applications such as smart devices, the Chinese hybrid cloud market will form an overall trend of “based on the construction and expansion of localized cloud platforms, driven by continued rapid growth in AI application demand.” In the second half of 2025, China's hybrid cloud market showed the following five major characteristics: significant changes in computing power ratios, prominent demand for heterogeneous computing power management, equal emphasis on localized computing power and AI security, explosion in demand for AI applications such as smart devices, and continued development in demand for edge reasoning.
