The Zhitong Finance App learned that on July 24, the HKSAR Government announced that the Chief Executive has re-appointed Chan Cho Hang as Chairman of the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) for a term of two years, effective August 6, 2026.
The Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of Hong Kong, Professor Sun Dong, welcomed Chan Cho-hang's re-appointment as Chairman of the Hong Kong Productivity Council. He said, “Under Mr. Chan Cho-hang's outstanding leadership over the past two years, the Hong Kong Productivity Council supports the government's innovation and technology policy. Its work actively cooperates with the country's 15th Five-Year Plan and vigorously develops new industrialization. He led the Hong Kong Productivity Council to support the government's policy direction to promote the integration and application of artificial intelligence in various industries. He also led the Hong Kong Productivity Council to establish an 'Overseas Service Center' to support enterprises to take advantage of Hong Kong's international advantages to explore the global market. I look forward to continuing to work closely with him to promote Hong Kong's new industrialization and advanced manufacturing sectors, and nurture more innovation and technology talents.”
Chan Cho Hang was first appointed Chairman of the Hong Kong Productivity Council in August 2022.
The Hong Kong Productivity Council was established in 1967 to enhance Hong Kong's productivity and provide comprehensive support services across the value chain for Hong Kong companies based on innovation and growth. The main industries supported by the Hong Kong Productivity Council are Hong Kong's manufacturing and related service industries, with Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area as the main service regions. The bureau provides a wide range of support services to its clients, including product development, consultancy, training and technology transfer.
