The National Energy Administration announced that in order to deepen practical cooperation between China and the International Renewable Energy Agency, in March 2026, the National Energy Administration issued a notice to replace the first batch of five special working groups on energy transition, hydropower, solar energy, hydrogen energy, and power grids under the China-IRENA “1+N” cooperation mechanism, and add 3 special working groups on energy storage, wind energy, education and youth to publicly solicit new members from the public. After independent declaration, consultation and confirmation, and merit-based selection, the list of the new constituent units is now being announced. The term of each team leader unit is 3 years, starting from the date of publication.
