DBS Group analyst Amanda Tan said in a report that Intel's planned capacity expansion is expected to benefit the profits of chip testing company AEM. Intel raised its 2026 capital expenditure from $18 billion to more than $20 billion after announcing results for the second fiscal quarter. The analyst said that while front-end manufacturing will account for most of the investment, considering the high cost of the fab, Intel also expects to expand back-end production capacity, which will benefit AEM, which sees Intel as its main customer. Meanwhile, DBS sees Intel's remarks as a positive sign for the wider semiconductor industry. Other AEM customers are likely to experience the same strong demand driven by artificial intelligence.
