The Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Statistics announced the economic performance of Shenzhen in the first half of 2026. In the first half of the year, the value added of industries above the size of the city increased by 8.7% year-on-year. By category, the value added of the mining industry increased by 2.2% year on year, the manufacturing industry grew by 9.3%, and the production and supply of electricity, heat, gas and water increased by 4.8%. Among the major industry categories, the general equipment manufacturing industry grew by 13.2%, the special equipment manufacturing industry grew by 12.8%, the computer, communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry grew by 12.3%, and the electricity, heat production and supply industry grew by 11.5%. Production of high-tech products continued to grow rapidly. Among them, production of 3D printing equipment, industrial robots, and lithium-ion battery products increased by 58.1%, 43.9%, and 25.5%, respectively.
