The third high-level dialogue on national security and rule of law between China and Canada was held in Beijing on the 22nd. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on issues such as combating transnational crime, anti-terrorism, anti-drug control, and immigration law enforcement cooperation. Lu Bai, Secretary General of the Political and Legislative Committee of the CPC Central Committee, and Morrison, senior adviser to the Prime Minister of Canada on foreign affairs and international affairs, co-chaired the dialogue. The two sides agreed that they are willing to jointly implement the cooperation agreement reached by the leaders of the two countries in the field of security, give full play to the role of a dialogue mechanism on national security and the rule of law, strengthen cooperation in the fields of national security, law enforcement and administration of justice, and promote the establishment of a new strategic partnership between the two countries. Relevant personnel from the Central Political and Legislative Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of National Security participated in the dialogue.
