The Zhitong Finance App learned that Hong Kong's Deputy Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Chan Ho-rim, posted on a social platform that this morning he and the Minister of Land and Natural Resources of Ghana, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah met to discuss key measures to promote economic growth. The talks focused on the common development of the gold market ecosystem. He said that the two sides have also agreed to arrange for a Ghanaian delegation to visit Hong Kong again later this year to further discuss gold market cooperation and other financial matters.

Chen Haolian said that as an important global gold producer and market participant, the two sides agreed to deepen cooperation, jointly study and promote innovation in gold market infrastructure, trading mechanisms and related policies, and work together to build a seamless, efficient and trustworthy gold corridor to benefit producers, refiners, traders and investors in the two regions.

He said that Hong Kong is committed to supporting the “Belt and Road” and partner countries, including Ghana, to help their countries develop through sharing expertise and cooperation in the financial sector. It is hoped that by deepening financial cooperation, relevant countries will be empowered to achieve their economic goals and make positive contributions to the link between regional prosperity and the “Belt and Road” initiative.
