The US Rare Earth Company will acquire a minority interest of about 13.6% of the French rare earth extraction and separation company Carester to implement the commercial cooperation and investment framework agreement announced by the two parties in April 2026. A key metals fund under InfraVia, an infrastructure investment group funded by French state-owned capital, will purchase about 13.6% of the same shares in the US rare earths at the same time. Carester's Caremag rare earth processing plant in Lac, France, is expected to be put into operation by the end of 2026, producing 800 tons of neodymium praseodymium oxide per year. Dysprosium and terbium oxides produced by the plant are expected to account for about 15% of the current global production of such oxides.
