So far, the current outbreak caused by the Bendibujo Ebola virus has reported a cumulative total of 1001 deaths in the Congo and Uganda. The African Center for Disease Prevention and Control announced an Ebola outbreak in the Ituri province of the Congo on May 15. The WHO announced on May 17 that the Ebola outbreaks in the Congo and Uganda constituted a “public health emergency of international concern.”
