SK Hynix has set the maximum amount of shares listed on the Korean Stock Exchange that can be converted into US Depositary Receipts at 2.5% of the company's total issued share capital. The $26.5 billion ADR issuance has exhausted the conversion quota. Investors will no longer be able to exchange Korean stocks for ADR unless existing ADR holders first exchange their US stock depository certificates for local Korean stocks. SK Hynix ADR has had a premium over shares listed on the Korean Stock Exchange for a long time, and the conversion limit may cause the price difference between the two places to continue to widen and last longer.
