In order to fully understand the state of fishery resources in the waters under China's jurisdiction and support the conservation and sustainable development of marine fishery resources, the “Blue Sea 201” scientific research vessel of the East China Sea Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fisheries Sciences of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs conducted a fishery resource survey in the waters east of Taiwan Island in China from July 17 to 23. This area is rich in fishery resources and is an important spawning ground for major economic species such as tuna. Using multidisciplinary survey methods, the survey collected fishery biological samples and environmental DNA samples such as fish, cephalopods, crustaceans, etc., and obtained basic data such as fishery acoustics and hydrometeorology, which laid the foundation for China to systematically grasp the state of fishery resources in this area. It also provided a scientific basis for carrying out fishery resource conservation and management in this sea area and promoting the sustainable development of marine fishery.
