According to data released by the European Automobile Manufacturers Association on Thursday, the growth of the European car market in June continued to be supported by demand for electric models, and the sharp decline in sales of gasoline and diesel vehicles was hedged by this. The overall increase in new car registrations has helped Chinese car companies further expand their market share in the European Union, the United Kingdom and the European Free Trade Association region. The total number of passenger car registrations rose 13.1% year over year to 1407,332 vehicles. The registrations of pure electric, plug-in hybrid, and oil-electric hybrid models surged 51%, 22.7%, and 17.1% respectively. Together, the three types of models accounted for more than 80% of the total number of new car registrations. Gasoline and diesel vehicle registrations declined by 12.2% and 16.9%, respectively.
