Ukrainian President Zelensky said in a social media post on the 22nd that the current Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Igor Skibyuk will succeed Andrii Gnatov as Chief of General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. According to the official website of the Ukrainian armed forces, Skibyuk is 49 years old and graduated from the Odesa Military Academy and the National Defense University of Ukraine. He served in the Ukrainian Airborne Assault Force for a long time and was promoted from a grassroots military officer to the commander of the Ukrainian Airborne Assault Force. On June 3, 2025, Skibyuk became Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces until now.
