The head of a maritime risk management company revealed on Wednesday that although the passage conditions of the Strait of Hormuz waterway have not been blocked, there are currently no large international merchant ships crossing the strait. Dimitris Maniatis, head of Greek maritime risk management company Marisks, said in an interview: “For any ship planning to cross the strait, there are no physical barriers to the waterway. Some of the ships involved in local shipping are sailing as usual and are unaffected by the situation. But when it comes to large ocean merchant ships owned and operated by international capital, not a single one is currently in transit.”
