China Power Construction announced that recently, China Water Resources and Hydropower Fifth Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Electric Power Construction Co., Ltd. and Iraq Ruida Company signed a water transportation system subcontract for the Basra seawater desalination project in Iraq. The contract amount is equivalent to about RMB 8.925 billion. The project is located in Basra province, Iraq. The main work of the project is to design and build a water transportation system with a daily water supply of 1 million cubic meters. The project construction period is 6 months of limited commencement period plus 1,350 days of main construction period, and the defect liability period is 24 months.
