Satellite images show that the Israeli military has recently stepped up the construction of a barrier in the Gaza Strip to separate more than half of the area it controls from the rest of the area. According to news from the US side on the 21st, the Israeli military has built more than 23 kilometers of soil barriers in the Gaza Strip in the past few months. Satellite images show that construction of the longest section of the barrier began in February of this year. It extends from the southern city of Khan Younis in Gaza to the vicinity of northern Gaza City. It is about 17 kilometers long, almost uninterrupted. The southern section of the barrier in Gaza was extended from about 500 meters to about 2.4 km in early July. If construction continues in the current direction, it will merge with the longest section of the barrier. In the northernmost part of Gaza, several sections of unconnected barriers have been built on the periphery of Beit Lahia.
