The Zhitong Finance App learned that China Airlines (03931) fell by nearly 4%, with a cumulative decline of nearly 30% during the month. As of press release, it decreased by 2.67% to HK$16.78, with a turnover of HK$56.3087 million.

According to the news, on July 14, Xinhuanet published an article stating that a large number of operating vehicles carrying China Airlines 177Ah lithium iron phosphate batteries concentrated on safety faults such as bulging batteries, plummeting battery life, and power outages. GAC Aian took the lead in issuing a warranty upgrade announcement, extending the battery warranty for the models involved to 8 years or 300,000 kilometers, with benefits such as free inspection and shutdown subsidies; China Airlines officially announced the rectification simultaneously on the same day and opened an exclusive maintenance channel to cover battery quality responsibilities.

It is worth noting that the two parties have yet to clearly state the division of responsibilities, and neither has yet responded on whether to carry out a centralized recall. According to data, the AIONS series sold more than 400,000 units from its launch in 2019 to its peak in 2023. According to media reports, the fault occurred mainly in the 150,000 to 300,000 km range. This happened to be a sensitive point where many operating vehicles have just passed or are about to exceed the manufacturer's warranty period.
