On July 22, Fu Bingfeng, vice president and secretary general of the China Automobile Manufacturers Association, said at the 2026 China Automobile Forum that the current global automobile industry pattern has been deeply adjusted, and the development environment is more complex and varied. The automobile industry is not only facing external shocks brought about by new low-carbon regulations and geopolitics, but is also subject to internal tests such as increased domestic competition, urgent breakthroughs in key core technologies, and structural adjustments in production capacity. The new problems, new performances, and new challenges revealed during these transformation processes have become urgent problems for the automotive industry to break through in the new era. In the first half of this year, more than 500 new cars were launched on the market. Most car companies are pursuing a “big and complete” product layout. The problem of model homogenization is becoming more serious, and planning and strategic goals are aggressive, causing widespread business anxiety in the industry. We call on enterprises to maintain the bottom line and return to rationality in competition, deepen the competitive circuit of differentiation, find their own position, abandon short-term opportunism, and establish a long-term development concept.
