Democratic Representative Richie Torres of New York State has written to the US Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate whether Truth Social's parent company's plan to sell real-time access to President Trump's posts to Wall Street agencies violates federal securities laws. The letter signifies a further escalation in the regulatory scrutiny of Trump's Media Technology Group plans. The group plans to monetize by selling preferential access to Trump's market-influential social posts to institutional investors. Trump Media Technology Group launched a new product, Truth API, which is scheduled to be officially launched on August 1. The interface can retrieve public posts from the top ten most popular accounts on the platform in real time. Group executives promote this service to the outside world, charging a maximum license fee of 100,000 US dollars per month. Kevin McGown, the Group's interim CEO, said that in the future, as long as customers are willing to pay more, the interface can be expanded to support data retrieval from more accounts.
