On July 21, local time, the French National Assembly and Senate officially passed a bill prohibiting minors under 15 from using social media. This bill is regarded as one of the important reforms of French President Emmanuel Macron's current term. According to the bill, the ban will be implemented in two stages: from September 1, minors under 15 will not be able to register new social media accounts; from January 2027, existing social media accounts belonging to minors under 15 will also be suspended or closed.
