The London Stock Exchange will open a new trading venue outside of regular trading hours to provide “almost continuous trading” during the working week. The new trading venue, called “LSE 24,” will operate from 5 p.m. to 7:50 a.m. the next day, London time, and is expected to open customer testing by the end of 2026, according to a statement released on Tuesday. The trading venue will operate independently of the exchange's main market, and the main market will continue to operate as usual. Exchange-traded products will be the platform's first tradable assets and are expected to go live in the first half of 2027. London Stock Exchange CEO Julia Hoggett said LSE 24 will provide customers with “greater flexibility beyond traditional trading hours” while improving market liquidity and participation.
