Hong Kong Buildings Department: A total of 13 building plans were approved in May

The Zhitong Finance App learned that the Hong Kong Buildings Department approved a total of 13 building plans in May, including 3 for Hong Kong Island, 4 for Kowloon and 6 for the New Territories. The plans approved above include 4 residential and commercial developments, 3 factory and industrial developments, and 6 community service developments.

Eight construction projects have been approved to commence. After completion, these projects will provide a total floor area of 12,1273 square meters for residential use, involving 2,060 units, and a floor area of 9366 square meters for non-residential use. In addition, the department has also been notified of commencement of superstructure work on 10 construction projects.

The Hong Kong Buildings Department also issued 14 entry slips, including 5 for Hong Kong Island, 3 for Kowloon and 6 for the New Territories. Among them, the floor area for residential use is 43301 square meters, with a total of 809 units; the floor area for non-residential use is 7,8814 square meters.

The total estimated value of the newly completed buildings in May was approximately HK$4.3 billion. In addition, the department approved two building demolition works. In May, the department received 2,362 reports of unauthorised building works and issued 385 demolition orders for unauthorised buildings.
