The Ministry of Water Resources recently issued the “Overall Plan for the Development of Water Resources Remote Sensing Satellite Applications”, which will effectively expand satellite resources by promoting the construction of four major systems of water resources remote sensing satellite resources, data resources, business applications, technological innovation and technical standards in an integrated manner. By 2030, a water conservancy remote sensing satellite application system covering major business areas will initially be formed; by 2035, a complete water conservancy remote sensing satellite application system will basically be formed, and sub-metre resolution image coverage capacity will be greatly improved, further improving the ability to rapidly monitor major water conservancy emergencies.
