Citi: Macau's gambling revenue on the first 19 days of July was about MOP 12.05 billion, and the average daily gambling revenue showed signs of recovery

The Zhitong Finance App learned that Citibank released a research report saying that according to industry data sources, Macau's total gaming revenue for the first 19 days of July is estimated to be about MOP 12.05 billion. The average daily gambling revenue for the previous week was approximately MOP 679 million, which is about 9% higher than the average of about 621 million patacas on July 6. Citi said that the latest weekly data seems to show that the disruption caused by global soccer matches continues to subside. There were only three soccer games last week, compared to eight games in the week of July 6.

By category, VIP room gaming revenue increased by about 0% to 2% month-on-month, midfield gaming revenue remained flat month-on-month, and the VIP room win rate appeared to be higher than the week of July 6. As global soccer games are a thing of the past, Citi expects Macau's gambling revenue to recover rapidly, driven by a series of star entertainment activities. The bank kept its July gambling revenue forecast of MOP 21 billion unchanged, down 5% from the previous year, and meant that the average daily gambling revenue for the rest of July would reach about MOP 746 million.
