Listen to the news

Gunpoint Exploration Ltd. (CVE:GUN) insiders who purchased shares in the last 12 months were richly rewarded last week. The stock climbed by 11% resulting in a CA$5.4m addition to the company’s market value. In other words, the original CA$1.28m purchase is now worth CA$2.90m.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Gunpoint Exploration

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Chairman P. Reifel bought CA$1.0m worth of shares at a price of CA$0.40 per share. We do like to see buying, but this purchase was made at well below the current price of CA$0.91. While it does suggest insiders consider the stock undervalued at lower prices, this transaction doesn't tell us much about what they think of current prices.
