On July 17, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister, met with UN Secretary General Guterres who came to China to attend the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai. Guterres warmly congratulated the successful holding of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, highly appreciated China's push for the establishment of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization, and expressed full agreement with the important propositions put forward by President Xi Jinping in his keynote speech, particularly the emphasis on the goodness, inclusiveness, and safety of artificial intelligence, which is highly compatible with the strategic goals and ideas of the United Nations. The United Nations is willing to closely communicate and cooperate with China to support the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization in playing an important role to better serve the common welfare of mankind. Currently, multilateralism is facing a negative trend, and the United Nations looks forward to continuing to work with China to defend the international rule of law, reform and improve global governance, and promote the three pillars of peace, development, and human rights in a balanced manner, particularly safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of developing countries and promoting the construction of a multipolar world.
