According to the Zhitong Finance App, Air China (601111.SH) announced that on July 17, 2026, the company, as the buyer, Air China Import and Export as the company's import agent signed an agreement with Airbus to purchase 15 Airbus A350-900 aircraft; on the same day, Shenzhen Airlines and Airbus signed an agreement to purchase 40 A320NEO series aircraft from Airbus. The total price of this transaction is approximately US$12.44 billion (approximately RMB 84.51 billion). Delivered in batches from 2029 to 2032.
The transaction is in line with the company's development plans and market needs, and helps the Group optimize its fleet structure and long-term capacity supplement. The transaction will expand the carrying capacity of the Group's fleet without considering adjustments such as aircraft withdrawal that may be made based on the market environment and aircraft age. Based on the Group's usable tonnage as of December 31, 2025, the company's aircraft purchases will increase the Group's capacity by about 7.1%, and the Shenzhen Airlines aircraft purchase will increase the Group's capacity by about 4.3%.
The A350-900 aircraft and A320NEO series aircraft introduced in this exchange are all Airbus's next-generation high-efficiency and energy-efficient models. Fuel consumption, carbon emission levels, and operating costs are significantly lower than the previous generation models. This transaction will help the Group optimize its fleet structure and route network structure, improve route operation efficiency and service quality, and strongly support the Group's future capacity layout. At the same time, it continues to reduce unit operating costs, helping the company achieve its dual-carbon target and transform China's civil aviation into a green and low-carbon environment.
