According to Zhitong Finance App, Shiyao Group (01093) announced that a phase II clinical trial of injectable sirolimus (albumin binding) developed independently by the group to treat patients with progressive or symptomatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma has officially started at the first center in China.

This product is a macrolide immunosuppressant and is a highly selective inhibitor of mammalian rapamycin target protein (mTOR). Sirolimus can combine with the immunoaffinity FKBP12 to form an immunosuppressive complex to block mTOR pathway activation and proliferation, and block cytokine-mediated T-lymphocyte activation and proliferation, and block the transition of the cell cycle from G1 phase to S phase; on the other hand, it can also lower the body's antibody production and exert a strong immunosuppressive effect. This product is an improved new chemical class 2.2 drug.

This clinical trial is a multicenter, open, non-randomized phase II clinical trial. It is intended to include patients with progressive or symptomatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma histologically unsuitable for radical surgery and assessed by researchers to receive systemic systemic treatment. The purpose is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of this product in patients with progressive or symptomatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma. Currently, the recruitment and screening of test subjects is being actively promoted.
