On this day, the 128 Neighborhood Renovation Project ushered in centralized relocation. The project involves more than 160 houses and a total of 3,481 certificates. It is the largest renovation project in Jing'an District in recent years, and the largest major urban renewal project in Shanghai since this year. Wang Zhen, deputy secretary of the Shanghai Construction and Transportation Committee and director of the Municipal Housing, Urban-Rural Development Management Committee, explained that by the end of June, 4.867 million square meters of old neighborhoods in Shanghai had been renovated, completing 61% of the annual plan. The complete renovation of 151,000 square meters of old housing units has been completed, 75% of the annual plan has been completed, benefiting 3,733 households. The urban village renovation completed the certification and commencement of all overall renovation projects, and a total of 5,226 village residents were relocated.
