According to a survey by the Pew Research Center, among the countries surveyed across five continents, including some of America's important allies, people generally have a higher affinity for China than the US. At the same time, people's views on America are getting worse. The Pew Research Center surveyed more than 42,000 people from February 8 to May 13, with an average margin of error of 3.9 percentage points. Of the 36 countries and regions surveyed, 27 people rated China higher than the US. These countries include long-time US allies such as Canada, Australia, France, and Germany. China's advantage is particularly evident among Asia-Pacific and Middle Eastern countries. In 20 countries, nearly half of the respondents had a positive view of China, while only 36% had a positive view of the US. Another Pew study on China showed that many countries, including some European countries, have already climbed to or are close to the highest record in history.
