Nvidia and four leading Japanese industrial automation companies said they will expand cooperation in the field of robot development and further promote Hwang In-hoon's development strategy in the field of artificial intelligence hardware. Fujitsu, Fanuc, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and Yaskawa Electric will join the Cosmos Alliance led by Nvidia. The alliance consists of companies and research institutes to accelerate the adoption of the Nvidia platform to develop what the industry calls physical AI. So-called physical AI covers a wide range of applications, including humanoid robots, factory automation systems, autonomous vehicles, intelligent buildings, and intelligent railway systems. Additionally, Hitachi, NEC, Komatsu, and Kubota will join the alliance. Nvidia, headquartered in Santa Clara, California, USA, sent an executive delegation led by co-founder Hwang In-hoon to Japan this week to promote the “physical AI” ecosystem construction concept and expand business cooperation.
