The Zhitong Finance App learned that, according to people familiar with the matter, artificial intelligence startup Anthropic PBC is planning to meet with investors before the initial public offering (IPO) to prepare for its potential large-scale IPOs and join the AI corporate listing boom.

People familiar with the matter said that the investment bank responsible for this IPO has begun arranging meetings between Anthropic management and investors in the next few weeks. Since the relevant information has not been made public, people familiar with the matter requested anonymity. Earlier, there were media reports that Anthropic could launch an IPO in October this year as soon as possible.

If the listing proceeds as planned, Anthropic will complete the IPO ahead of its main competitor OpenAI. According to previous reports, OpenAI has postponed the launch target from the fall of 2026 to 2027. It is worth mentioning that both companies have secretly submitted listing applications.

However, people familiar with the matter said that Anthropic is currently still in the internal discussion stage, and there is still a possibility that the specific timing and distribution schedule of the IPO will be adjusted. An Anthropic spokesperson declined to comment.

In recent years, driven by the rapid commercialization of the Claude series of big language models, and breakthroughs in the field of AI programming aids in particular, Anthropic's revenue has grown rapidly, laying the foundation for listing.

However, the company still faces some policy uncertainty. The Trump administration previously briefly restricted overseas users from accessing Anthropic's two core AI models, and Anthropic has also previously sued the US Department of Defense against listing the company as a company that could threaten the security of the US supply chain.

According to people familiar with the matter, Anthropic's IPO is headed by Morgan Stanley (MS.US), Goldman Sachs (GS.US), and JPM.US (JPM.US).

After completing the latest round of financing in May this year, Anthropic's valuation has risen to $965 billion, making it one of the world's highest-valued unlisted technology companies.
