On July 15, the WeChat Security Center issued an announcement stating that recently through user complaints, it was discovered that some parking lot had inductive advertising pop-ups on QR code payment pages. This type of violation mainly manifests as false offers to induce clicks, hidden or missing close buttons. The above acts violate the provisions of the “Advertising Law of the People's Republic of China” that advertisements must not deceive or mislead consumers, and that pop-up advertisements must have prominent one-click closing signs. Once such illegal links are discovered and verified, the platform will handle them in accordance with relevant national laws and regulations and platform agreements and rules such as the “Tencent WeChat Software License and Service Agreement” and “WeChat External Link Content Management Code”, including restricting access to the illegal link.
