The Zhitong Finance App learned that on July 15, the Hong Kong Government announced that the Hong Kong Financial Secretary has appointed a new chairman and vice-chairman of the Leveraged Foreign Exchange Arbitration Committee, as well as three new members for a term of three years, from July 17, 2026 to July 16, 2029.

A spokesman for the Hong Kong Financial Services and the Treasury Council said, “The members of the Committee are all veterans in the financial services or legal sector. We expect members to support the work of the Committee with their expertise and rich experience. We would also like to thank the outgoing Chairman Lee Pui-shan, members Fung Kit-ming and Leung Pong-yuan for their contributions to the Committee during their tenure.”

The Commission is established under the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Chapter 571) to arbitrate disputes between corporations and clients licensed by the Securities and Futures Commission to conduct leveraged foreign exchange transactions.

The list of members of the new Committee is as follows:

Dr. Chen Shaoping (appointed as Chairman)

Dr. Wang Lei (appointed as Vice Chairman)

Dr. Lu Mengyu (appointed as a member)

Peggy Tse (appointed as a member)

Xu Zhidao (Appointed as a member)
