The Zhitong Finance App learned that recently, six departments including the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the National Development and Reform Commission jointly issued the “15th Five-Year Plan” for the Prevention and Control of Solid Waste Pollution. The “Plan” proposes overall goals for the next five years: by 2030, solid waste remediation in key areas will have achieved obvious results, historical solid waste stocks will be effectively controlled, the high incidence of illegal dumping and disposal will be curbed, the capacity and level of comprehensive solid waste management will be significantly improved, the “one network” of solid waste informatization supervision will achieve full coverage of key areas, and a number of “waste-free cities” will be built. Among them, the proportion of hazardous waste landfill disposal volume will be reduced from about 13% to less than 10% in 2025, the share of key general industrial solid waste storage and landfills will be reduced from about 56% to less than 30%, and the information technology supervision coverage rate of hazardous waste-related units throughout the process will reach 100%. Incidence indicators for illegal dumping and illegal disposal of solid waste will be drastically reduced by 2030.
