The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology organized the Communications Administration of Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangxi and other places to actively respond to typhoons “Mesak” and “Bawe”, requiring all units in the industry to always tighten the strings of typhoon prevention and flood control, tighten disaster prevention and relief responsibilities, strengthen work coordination, improve work plans, strengthen duty, and do a good job of emergency communication support. In response to the impact of the typhoon on communication networks, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology closely followed meteorological changes, closely monitored network operation conditions, urgently dispatched a national emergency communication professional support team and emergency communication equipment, and launched a 5G cross-network roaming service to support the communication needs of flood control and disaster relief command departments and people in the disaster area. According to statistics, as of 12:00 on July 12, the information and communication industry had dispatched 68,000 rescue personnel, 24,000 emergency communication vehicles, 31,000 oil generators, 130 satellite phones, 27 drones, and 330 million early warning SMS messages. A total of 11,000 damaged base stations have been cleared and restored.
